Pillars Of Islam/Imaan

☀ The word “DEEN” means religion. In Islamic terms, “DEEN” has a comprehensive meaning. It refers to all that ALLAH has revealed and sent down to HIS beloved Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) regarding matters of religion. It includes all a Muslim beliefs (Imaan) and his practices (Islam).

☀ The word “IMAAN” means faith. In Islamic terms, Imaan means to accept with the heart all the teachings of our beloved Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) regarding matters of belief such as belief in ALLAH, HIS Angels, HIS Books, The Last Day, etc. One who truly accepts these teachings is called a “Mu’min” or Believer. There are six pillars of Imaan. The Mu’min believes in all six without discriminating between any of them. Rejecting or disbelieving in even one of these six beliefs is an act of disbelief and rejection (kufr)

☀ The word “ISLAM” means submission. In Islamic terms, Islam means to physically practice upon all the teachings of our Beloved Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) regarding matters of worship and conduct such as the verbal recital of the Shahadah, performing the Salaah, paying the Zakaah, being kind to one’s parents etc. One who dutifully practices upon these teachings is called a “Muslim” or one who has submitted himself to the will of ALLAH. Islam has five pillars. They are obligatory upon the Muslim who must carry them out as his/her duties to ALLAH. To neglect any of the obligatory duties of Islam is sinful and an act of Fisq or disobedience.
